No harm done, Andrew.
Although, I do disagree and believe that any blame should be on Wasabi's shoulders.
S/he's an active member of these forums and is well aware the kind of fuss that this would cause, but ignored that (consequently making a lot of people angry with both you and ANet) for his/her own gain.
And trying to sell your mask? That's pretty low, if you ask me.

People become upset when they are surprised sometimes, especially when someone surprises them by having what seems to be an unfair advantage. In this game, like it or not, minipets = free gold to a lot of players. So when Wasabi posted the mini pet in high end, it caught a lot of people off guard and in a negative way.
Everyone knew what date was posted on the guildwars.com website for the new minipets to arrive; if Wasabi had thought about this, he would not have posted it for sale. When you gave him the pet, the responsibility was passed over to Wasabi. What ever he did with it from there was his responsibility, not AP's.

I'm thinking you don't want to let Wasabi ever meet you in person. I think you might later find your shoes on Ebay, if you did.

Money > friends amirite?
I don't think you're the one who should be apologizing here, Andrew.

Not helping Wasabi's case, certainly, but that wasn't my intention anyway...

I never meant to help his case. I think his actions speak louder than anything I could say.

You give him your festival hat, he tries to sell it. You give him your 3rd year birthday present, he tries to sell it. Trying to make gold off your presents, what a great friend he is. If you want to be so generous, find someone who won't sell what you're kindly giving away, Andrew.
At least you admitted you made a mistake, and apologized for it. Too bad Wasabi won't admit or apologize to anything. It seems he's the kind of person to hide in the shadows and lurk around threads concerning this.

That's respectable of Andrew to acknowledge and apologize for the mistake.
I'm curious about how Wasabi got the pet back so easily. Did he increase the price he bought it back for? Did he threaten the buyer with dev intervention of the banstick on the buyer's account? I'm skeptical that the buyer would just "sell it back" without having first been given any of such incentives to do so.

I agree 100%. Receiving a gift from a friend shouldn't immediately bring thoughts of, "now how much can I get for this?"

Exactly. I have never sold a gift from friends. Hell, I still have a Goblin Nutcracker of the Monkey from my girlfriend in WoW, as well as the tuxedo she likes me to wear when I meet her in game... as well as.... She's clogging my bank to hell.

lol. I'm the same way, though most of the gifts I get are materials or tomes. My boyfriend gave me a beautiful q9 14^50 Gothic Dual Axe around the time Factions was just getting started, but I didn't try to sell it... I made axe the primary weapon on my warrior. ><
EDIT: Arkantos, I did see Wasabi's name in the "viewing" list earlier.. I was shocked to see that he left without comment. Just let Andrew take the heat, eh?

That's the kind of guy Wasabi is - a good enough friend to get your minipet back after he has already ripped off some buyer at the cost of his dignity and the respect of everyone in the Guild Wars and Guild Wars Guru community.
Where I come from, it is highly respectable to give someone the honor of selling your goods back to you after you have already taken much time and effort to take advantage of them for a couple extra platinum THAT YOU DON'T EVEN NEED.

Gee, I see so many throwing stones but I havent seen anyone apologize for the crazy conspiracies and accusing the devs of favoritism and supposedly "conjuring" up minipets for ZoS.
I really do have to shake my head at the proportions this has been blown up into. People are so willing and ready to lynch each other for the most slightest of things.

Um why should the community apologize its not their fault. Blame is only rightfully pointed at one side here.

You're right. I guess it isnt the fault of a few people who whipped the whole community into a frenzy with false accusations of devs poofing up minipets for the ZoS. The community was already in a frenzy.
